The Cité internationale
du cinéma d'animation
is Gearing Up!

It's almost time; the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation will open its doors in a year's time in June 2026.
Since the creation of the International Animation Film Festival in 1960, Annecy has steadily become the world capital of animation. The Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation is the epitome of a story that spans several decades, combining heritage and innovation in the middle of an everyday urban setting nestled in the mountains.

At the Cité internationale
du cinéma d’animation,
CITIA will now be able to support animation in all its forms,
ranging from the behind the scenes to the big screen.

For many years, CITIA's international events (Festival & Mifa), the related activities at Les Papeteries – Image Factory, its commitment to the cultural and creative industries, and its year-round work for the interests of the general public have all been part of CITIA's efforts to:

A genuine urban oasis and part of an ambitious restoration project led by the City of Annecy and its partners (the Département de la Haute-Savoie, the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and the State), the Annecy Haras is emerging as a gastronomic, cultural and heritage site, the jewel box of the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation.

With the Cité, CITIA will be able to share all the richness and diversity of animation with the general public throughout the year. Annecy has been welcoming and celebrating animation creators and professionals for one week a year during the Festival in June. From now on, they will be welcome all year round, to the sheer delight of visitors to the Cité!

The Cité will provide a cultural offer and a myriad of events throughout the year

The ambitions of the Cité internationale du cinéma d'animation

A place to relax, be indulgent, have fun, and recharge your batteries
